Peer Review System

  • Peer review is a crucial link in the publishing process of scientific and technological journals, a quality control mechanism for scientific and technological journals, and an important barrier for scientific and technological journals to ensure academic quality and academic fertility. Through the editorial system, the editorial department of "Special Oil and Gas Reservoirs" adopts the three-review system of initial editor's review, peer expert review, and final review by the editor-in-chief when implementing the website review to ensure the fairness and rationality of the review process. The details are as follows:

    1. Preliminary review of editing

        1) After receiving the manuscript, the column editor will review the scientificity, innovation, readability, academic misconduct, consistency with the reporting direction of the journal, etc., and only after the review is passed, can the expert review be carried out. Manuscripts that do not meet the above review requirements will be rejected.

        2) The journal adopts a double-blind review system, and the manuscript will be processed before sending it for review, and the relevant information such as the author's name, unit, fund project and other relevant information will be deleted to ensure the fairness of expert review.

    2. Peer expert review

        1) The journal specially invites more than 100 outstanding scholars and experts at home and abroad to form an expert review team to ensure coverage of various research directions and effectively ensure the professionalism of the review.

        2) For the manuscript that passed the preliminary review, select 2 industry experts according to the research direction, review the innovation, professionalism, accuracy, practicality and other aspects of the paper, and feedback the review opinions within the specified time.

    3. Final review by the editor-in-chief

        1) The editor-in-chief reviews the paper in combination with the results of column editing and expert review, and finally decides whether to accept it.

        2) For controversial manuscripts, the peer expert review process will be started again, the review experts will be re-selected for review, and the final review conclusion will be based on the results of multiple reviews.
